Junior School Principal's Message
It is with great anticipation that we prepare for the 2011-2012 school year.
We are in the midst of planning new and exciting activities that will motivate and engage our students in all aspects of our program.
We look forward to embarking on several enchanting excursions. These outings will help our students put into practice day-to-day learning. Also, our virtue bears Ben, Linda, and Anna will continue their captivating adventures every month through the virtue booklet.
Gear up for an incredible 2011-2012 school year!

Academic Outline: Pre-school to Senior Kindergarten
Students in the Junior School are exposed to a wide variety of subjects and their natural curiosity is encouraged to help them gain knowledge of the world and the truth of things. Preparation for later critical thinking is facilitated by emphasizing order and by providing a predictable and consistent learning environment.
The Junior School’s core subjects of mathematics and language are carefully structured to help young students develop their ability to think logically. A well-rounded education is provided through the other core subjects, including art, French, music, physical education and science. Students learn sound study skills and work habits in each area.
A distinctive feature of Hawthorn’s Junior School is a full academic program for young learners. To ensure a balanced approach, academic subjects are interspersed with free and directed play, crafts, music and games.
