Hawthorn students receive a Catholic education. This means that certain core values of the Catholic faith are not confined to religion class, but permeate every aspect of the students’ life in the school.
Whether helping out with a food drive, participating in a team sport, or answering questions in class, the girls are consistently taught to practice virtues and to see each other as another unrepeatable human being of great worth. They also learn to critically assess whatever they hear and to defend what they believe is true. They come to understand that life has a purpose and that they have a unique part to play – a part which will demand dedication and sacrifice.
The formation offered at Hawthorn goes far beyond academics. The students leave with an education that has formed character and conscience – an education informed by the Catholic principles of faith united with solid reasoning.
